Tiny yellow bugs?

For the last two weeks, I've been getting bitten by tiny, yellow bugs when I'm outside. Even for the squirmish, these bugs aren't gross. They're *so tiny*. Probably not even a millimeter. The second I touch it, it's dead. It's yellow to yellow brown in color. I always feel them when they land on me, and it's a tiny bite sensation. After that, it's fine. Doesn't leave a lasting sensation. Anyone have any ideas about what these guys are or have similar experiences?

I asked a few folks at work and they all think I'm crazy. I google'd no-see-ums and it's not these guys. So, so tiny! Maybe I just have hyper sensitive skin?

(When I lived in Florida, I was a mosquito-magnent. I usually had 20+ bites at all times from May to September.)

I'm glad I'm not imagining things. I get them mostly around Town Lake. I'm glad you posted this, I'm interested to know what they are.

I get them at the dog park at Riverside and in the work parking lot (on the trail, too). Also down far south where I live. It's comforting knowing someone else is experiencing them too.

We have them on the swingset in the back yard. No idea what they are.

I found almost the exact same question.

I remember playing with red clover mites when I was a kid, but I don't recall ever being bitten by them.

I had googled a few days ago and it was becoming hopeless. These bugs can't be played with because your finger or anything kills them, they're so small. But thanks for the lead.

You play with them by drawing a circle around them in chalk. For some reason, perhaps because they're so tiny, they can't cross the chalk line. Anytime I'd try to touch them, they'd just turn into a splotch.

OMG what are those damn things!!!

I've killed one before and saw blood, so I wonder if they are blood suckers...

My family calls them "no-see-ums". Dunno what they are but they swarm around me too. I can't even go outside sometimes.

Edit: After googling, whatever we're calling no-see-ums aren't no-see-ums. >_>

Edit: GOOGLE POWER GO! The internets tell me they are thrips nymphs!

No one has mentioned chiggers although it doesn't seem to be what you described. Interestingly though, this site says chiggers turn yellow / yellow brown after feeding, and fall off easily coz we have no fur for them to hold on to.

Oooh! Oooh! Wait! I think I got it: THRIPS!

Those are thrips!

I only know this because I google'd "tiny little yellow bugs biting me" and several webpages came up explaining what these are.

I keep getting bitten by them at work (north-east) when I go out for my smoke breaks. I have no idea why! I thought I was going crazy and had morgellon's disease or something. But nope, these tiny little insects are checking to see if I'm food.

Here are a couple of webpages:

I hate those freakin' things. I got about 15 bites on my wrist yesterday within 2 minutes of sitting in my grass.

They seem to have gotten worse since it's rained and cooled the past few days.

i feel them all the time but others don't! it's weird. i'm glad i'm not the only one.

OMG! I have been wondering about these suckers forever. No one I ever talk to seems to know what I'm talking about either! Glad to know there are others out there. lol.
