First tattoo

I am getting my first tattoo - something rather quaint in the way of my sister's name on my right wrist. I wanted to know if any of you could recommend the best artist in town who could look at what I wrote and copy the font/style. What would a tattoo consisting of five letters run, money-wise (ballpark estimates, of course)? Do I need to call ahead and make an appointment?

My brother just got ink at Bijou Tattoo (above The Liberty on East 6th). The staff were all awesome and nice. Not sure about pricing though...

I used Nathan Hebert over at Atomic on Burnet and he was pretty fantastic. It's a charge by the hour for most artists, when you go in they will give you an estimate on how much it will cost.

Might be late on this, but... http://triplecrowntattoo.com

Scott Ellis did both of my sleeves, so I'm super partial to his work.... but, everyone over there is good. Send an email or call ahead.

Also late on this, but I second the recommendation for Triple Crown. I got a tattoo of my grandmother's handwriting and one of my mother's signature done there by Mo Malone. All the artists are great so you'll have to schedule a time with them rather than walk in and hope for the best.
