Upcoming Recommendations...

Hey guys and gals,
I was reading the chronicle and thinking I should start a thread here to get recommendations on what to do in upcoming weeks. Plays you've seen, music acts that are great, some event you heard about that seems like it would be a good time... anything!

Bob Schneider is back Tuesday night @ Antones. If you haven't seen him play before, it is highly recommended. And if you have, there's probably a good chance you'll be there! If anyone else is planning on going, we should figure out how to recognize eachother and say hello.

'Art' at Zachary Scott Theater... I haven't seen it yet but I've heard it's great from everyone I talked to that has, and my old drama teacher Jon Watson is one of the stars. Plus Zach Scott is a great theater, and is pretty much consistently good.

'RENT'... Saw it here a couple years ago and it was fabulous. Can't wait to see it 'gain.

'Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Animation Festival' at Alamo Drafthouse. I like seeing anything at the Alamo, but Spike & Mike's is some pretty fun humor. I dunno, I like the first half a lot better than the second half and am hesitant to recommend it to everyone. But one of the skits, the last one in the first half, 'Rejected'... is, as the chronicle says, worth the price of admission. It represents my sense of humor exactly and I felt like I was going to explode from the laughter when it was on.

Shorty Long this Sunday night at Flipnotics. Shorty Long is comprised of some old members of the Aysulm Street Spanker and several other cool cats. Their instruments include ukuleles, a banjo, an upright bass, a slide guitar, a nose flute, a kazoo, and more! Novelty retro jazz, broadway, and surfy tunes. Lots of fun!

Okay, you got any recommendations for me?!
