Austin Community Spirit

Hey LJer's, got this email, thought I'd pass it on here. I wasn't here for the last triathalon, but everyone says it was a good time. (More info and online registration.)

As you may know, we are gearing up for the Race to the Rescue. We need your help in spreading the word. Please forward the following message to your contacts. We want this event to be a tremendous success. With your help, we know it will be. Thanks so much.

Fellow Austinites--

Trilogy and Hospice Austin have joined forces to organize a citywide fundraising effort that will support the relief efforts in New York City.

On Saturday, October 27th, at Trilogy's headquarters (5001 Plaza on the Lake--at the Loop 360 bridge) we will host the "Austin Race to the Rescue" which will include a triathlon as well as a 5K and 1K Freedom Fun Run/Walk. All money raised from entry fees and donations at the event will be presented to the World Trade Center Relief Fund on behalf of the citizens of Austin.

We are asking all Austin businesses to join this effort in whatever way they can. In addition to encouraging employees to participate in the event, there are other ways you can help. We need volunteers, door prizes, donations or anything you can provide. All businesses who contribute will be recognized at the event and wherever possible, in our promotional
materials (t-shirts, water bottles, race bags, signage, etc).

We want this to be a celebration of the American spirit and to send a message that the great citizens of Austin share the pain of those directly affected by the attacks.

To find out more on how your organization can help, visit the Race to the Rescue website at www.racetotherescue.trilogy.com or contact Glenda Stubbs at glenda.stubbs@trilogy.com. Thank you in advance for your gracious support.
